Join us for a family friendly guest speaker presentation this summer! Each Saturday is a different speaker on a different topic.
June is Orca Action Month, a mission started by Orca Network 16 years ago! This year the Orca Salmon Alliance is celebrating the orca salmon connection. Join us in an educational presentation from Langley Whale Center and Education Assistant, Tiffany Waldner. We will discuss orcas of the Salish Sea and learn how salmon are a key connection to their survival.
Date and Time: Saturday, June 11 at 7:00 PM
Location: North Beach Amphitheater (near West Beach Parking Lot)
A bit about Tiffany: “Wildlife was always my passion. Growing up in Wyoming there was not much salt water around, yet my heart and passion always pulled me in the direction of working with marine life. I moved to Washington three years ago with a goal to finally pursue my dreams. Began by doing multiple internships and volunteering. I was hired for Orca Network and as an educator for the Salish Sea School last fall.
Recently I was also hired as a naturalist for Outer Island Excursions. Education truly became my passion while volunteering with the stranding network. I spent hours educating visitors about our local elephant seals and fell in love with the mission of spreading awareness, knowledge, and love about our local species. I spend my days either at the Langley Whale Center, on a whale watching boat, volunteering for the Stranding Network, doing camps for the Salish Sea School, or out looking for wildlife in my free time. I have helped with multiple necropsies, worked with multiple species of animal in my life, and have been able to spread the love I feel through the work I do. It is truly my passion. “
The 2022 Summer Speaker Series is apart of our many events celebrating the 100th birthday of Deception Pass State Park supported by Dwayne Lane Skagit Subaru.
